I can't believe that school is almost over for this semester. More over, I can't believe that I have one and a half more years of this. I know its going to be the hardest thing that I ever do but that means its going to be worth it...right? Anyway, that's why I haven't updated my journal in forever. Hopefully, I'll be able to update lots during the holiday break.

Ok, so Karen made me this cool new layout. Isn't it pretty! And I think I'm finally happy with the name of my journal so this should be the last change...for now :p

Dragon Con was an absolute blast! I actually participated this year and sat on a couple of panels (vidding and wicca in television). It was awsome. One of the coolest things about this year was meeting Julie Benz and her husband John Kassir. Julie is one of the lively and energetic people I've ever met. She just seems like one of those people that you would like to hang with and maybe go shopping. Her Q&A's were a riot. John Kassir is her husband and ,for those of you who aren't familiar with him, was the voice of the crypt keeper. Just an absolutely awsome human being. He talked with me and Karen for at least 30 minutes and is just really genuine and down to earth. He even kissed me on the forehead when we left.
This is probably the coolest thing I did at Dragon Con this year!
Ok, Dragon Con 2004 is officially over.*sob* But I have loads to write about and report on. We got to meet Nathan Fillion, who played Caleb on Buffy and I met Julie Benz for the first time. She is so sweet. That's my little tease of a con report for now but more coming soon, I just want to rest :)
In June I attended the Moonlight Rising Convention in the Poconos Mountains in Pennsylvania. Beautiful place (just don't expect to be able to get out of the surrounding area very easily...I'd explain but its kind of a long story). Anyway, I wanted to bring something home for my husband. There was lots of Merchandise at the convention, but strangely I didn't think he would want a Buffy poster or the latest Buffy figurines. There was a group selling T-shirts there and, after seeing one of my roomates with one that she had bought at a previous convention, I decided to buy one for him. Its all black and the words on the front are in latin. It reads "I have a catapult. Give me all of your money or I'll throw an enormous rock at your head". It's just the sort of thing my husband would love. I brought it home, he liked it and he's worn it a couple of times. On Monday, we were out shopping and I noticed that he was acting kind of weird. He wasn't acting crazy and he wasn't acting like there was anything wrong...just weird. Like quoting Monty Python weird. I asked him about it and he said "I think its the shirt". My response is probably what yours is..."Huh?!" He told me. "I guess its woken up the weirdness in me". It was kind of refreshing because he is usually in a really bad mood when we go shopping. So, I'd like to say thanks to eviljade for making the shirt suggestion at Moonlight Rising. I may have to get myself one at the next convention I attend.

Ok, I have orientation for nursing school tomorrow and I'm a little nervous. This is something that I've been working towards for the past two years and finally, its here. I have orientation the next two days and then classes start in two weeks. Its a little scary. Everyone keeps telling me how hard it is and that I'm going to be on Xanax ( I think I spelled that right) by the time I graduate. I'm trying to keep an open mind though. Well, I'm off to work on Icons and such, probably won't have a whole lot of time for this stuff once school starts so I had better enjoy myself.
I've been wanting to change the name of my LJ for a while. Tabula Rasa means a blank canvas so I thought it was appropriate...not to mention one of my favorite Buffy eps ever. The layout is a banner I made a while back and my sis Karen helped me with the other stuff. Chance is such a great flick, if you haven't seen it yet you need to.
